From Passion to Precision

Raynor Shine Auto Works began from a love for cars, a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, and one special project…a 1969 Dodge Dart affectionately known as Betsy.

Brian Raynor, owner and operator, got Betsy as his first car at just 15 years old. He grew up around cars, working after school in his father’s mechanic shop, gaining hands-on experience and learning the trade from the ground up. So, with help from his dad, Brian made the necessary repairs to get her roadworthy, and Betsy became his trusted ride throughout high school. Years later, after selling the motor, she sat in storage for nearly seven years. But in 2009, after being laid off from his job of 11 years, Brian found himself at a crossroads. During that time, he had built extensive experience as a heavy-equipment assembler and painter. With time on his hands and a lifelong passion for automobiles, he decided to bring Betsy back to life.

What started as a personal restoration project quickly became something more. While tackling bodywork, sanding, priming, and painting, Brian realized not only was he good at it, he loved it. This led him to enroll at Wayne Community College, adding formal training to his years of hands-on, real-world experience. Brian earned an Associate in Applied Science in Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology, along with certifications in Non-Structural Repair, Refinishing, and Structural Repair.

Raynor Shine Auto Works began with auto and boat detailing but has since grown into a full-service shop. Today, our skilled team specializes in collision repair, custom paint and restorations, mechanical services, commercial services, tires, detailing, and more. Whether restoring a classic, repairing damage, or keeping your vehicle in top shape, we bring the same dedication and precision that brought Betsy back to life.
